Good Morning, Pirates!!!

Quote of the Day:

In honor of Martin Luther King Day, theCHIVE will not be posting regularly today. We'll be back tomorrow though, don't worry. For now, I'd like to share with you this gallery as a tribute to the man responsible for this morning's few extra hours of sleep.

Martin Luther King Jr. is often hailed as the greatest hero of the African-American community, but to call him that is to miss his message almost entirely. Although Dr. King's name will appear in history books next to the rights he helped earn for African-Americans, his greatest gift to us was the brilliant, shining example he set for all men. Dr. King's speeches call not just for equality for black people but for love and compassion from everyone for everyone, and they do so with language more beautiful than mere words have any right to be.

Dr. King was one of the most inspiring spiritual leaders in any history anywhere, and so I tried my best here to capture his message of peace, love, justice, and service in the hope that it will not soon be forgotten.

Quote of the Day:

He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Our Pirates and Lady Pirates started off their three games last weekend by beating Darby.  Good Work, Pirates!!!  Both Varsity Girls and Boys dropped their next two to Drummond and Charlo.  It was a tough three game set with a lot of travelling.  Keeping working hard!!  And remember, your character is always more important than whether or not you win or lose.

Good afternoon, Pirates!

Australian Peacock Spider.

 An Australian Peacock Spider!

And now we have Ms. Davidson-Martin to recognize our Students of the Month~~!!!

There will be some changes regarding our breakfast program.  We regret any inconvenience this causes any of our students, parents, and/or teachers.  We are committed to making this work smoothly, so if people have any ideas, please share them.

In true Pirate fashion, Randy Miller stepped to the free throw line last Saturday night with 2 seconds to go and sank both free throws to steal the victory from Seeley-Swan.  Way to go, Randy and the Pirate team!

Tomorrow!!  Our Pirates and Lady Pirates play the Darby Tigers beginning at 230!  Mr. Dobberstein has agreed to make sure to play the school song so we can sing it at the game!!!!!  Remember to show your Pirate spirit by singing well!!!
