ETHOS
Ethos
is a Greek word meaning "character" that is used to describe the
guiding beliefs or ideals that characterize a community, nation, or ideology.
Ethos allows faculty and students alike
to set a positive tone for the day, to learn of recent student and faculty
accomplishments, to hear announcements, to start the day with an inspirational
message, to present a common and unified message, and to experience a sense of
community. The experiences that we share in Ethos are lessons in empathy
and compassion. Through Ethos, students and staff invite us to see into a
chapter of their lives and use the power of their message to help us open our
eyes to the different challenges that we face. In Ethos, we support each
other. We applaud the successes of our sports teams, we celebrate
birthdays, we mourn losses whether to our community or the outside world, and
we share viewpoints. Coming together for Ethos reminds us that we all
belong to the Victor community.
