This week’s Theme:
SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT
Do you have a sense of accomplishment like these 4th graders?
This is how you call hogs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AsrCZdzvAY
Pay attention to how this is done. Maybe we will have a hog calling contest during FFA week.
Hog calling is a real thing most calls are an adaptation of the word hoey or suey. The idea was that the farmer could call the pigs in from the field in the evening to feed them and put them away for the night in order to keep them safe from predators and weather.
GOLD TICKETS
Our focus is being to class on time and prepared. Each week Golden Tickets will be drawn for hot chocolate. Also, each quarter a Golden Ticket will be drawn for a larger prize.
The Ag Leadership class puts on something called Ag Camp for the 6th grade class. The high school students in the leadership class prepares a lesson each month. This month was focused on sheep. The 6th grade class learned about showing sheep, the different uses for sheep, and evaluating sheep for cutability. Here are some pictures from October's Ag Camp.
