Elementary Newsletter for February 5, 2013

                              Respectful!  Responsible!  Ready!

There is no school on Thursday, February 14 and Monday February 18.  Enjoy the time with your families and we will see everyone back at school on Tuesday, February 19th!
Our Pirate and Lady Pirate Basketball teams will be hosting their final home game this Saturday night!!  It is senior night for some of our favorite kids, so please come out and support them in their final home basketball game!  (Varsity) Pirates will begin at 4:00 and Lady Pirates will begin at 5:30.  Come support our student athletes!
There is interest in starting a Parent-Teacher Organization.  If you are interested and would be willing to help out please call the school (642-3221).  At this point, we are trying to gauge the interest level of our community.
BPA is conducting a fundraiser to help offset the costs of their state meet.  There are jars at the office labeled with Mr. Howell, Mr. Johnston, Ms. Wildey, Ms. Taylor, Ms. Rothe, and Mr. Pearson.  Whoever has the most money placed in their jar gets a pie in the face.   Save Mr. Pearson from a pie in the face!  Donate to someone other than Mr. Pearson!
We have two student teachers working in our K-5 school.  Ms. Watt is student teaching with Ms. Peltier in third grade and Ms. Zeilor is student teaching with Ms. Montague in fifth grade.  Let’s make them feel welcome at our school!
February is “I Love to Read” month.  Your kids should have come home with a calendar of the events!
We continue to be vigilant against head lice and we are pleased to announce we have not found any new cases in the past week!  We appreciate everyone’s support in this endeavor!
