On this day in 1991, the so-called "perfect storm" hits the North Atlantic producing remarkably large waves along the New England and Canadian coasts. Over the next several days, the storm spread its fury over the ocean off the coast of Canada. The fishing boat Andrea Gail and its six-member crew were lost in the storm. 

Meanwhile, 21 years later Hurricane Sandy is pummeling New York and the Eastern Seaboard. 7.5 million people awoke this morning without power.  This video of a street (not a river) in New York City depicts the intensity of what is going on:

Today's Lunch:  Tuna Casserole, Peas, Carrot Sticks, Juice Cups, and Fruits/Veggies.



There will be a Mock Election this afternoon starting after the high school lunch. Since the 6th graders will be gone on a field trip, we will start with the 7th graders. There will be an announcement for each grade starting with 7th grade working up to the seniors to be excused to go to room Z. Each student will log on with a given user name and password and participate in voting for the President/Vice President and the Montana Representatives for Congress and Senate.

There will be a dance.  

BPA meeting Tuesday during lunch in Mrs. Wildey's room.
