Lee Morgan's tune "the Sidewinder" came out late in 1964 and rose in the Billboard Hot 100 in December 1964 and January 1965, after it's use in a Chrysler commercial during the 1964 World Series made it a national hit. A first in jazz, and a tune some consider one of the songs that really began the soul jazz movement of the 1960's and 1970's.

BPA members- If you are going to BPA State March 7-10, the $45 fee is due February 6th. On February 7, the fee goes to $60. I can't register you until your registration fees are paid. If you qualified at Regionals, but are not going to state, please let Mrs. Wildey know ASAP!
From the Counseling Office: High School students you need to change your schedule for next semester please try to take care of it during finals week if possible. If you failed a class you need to let your advisor know about it. All HS students will meet with advisors on Thursday during finals week to review their graduation plans.
