Cringe Factor not too high on that, I hope...
                    Brought to you by Earthweek!
Earth Day is a special day of awareness started in 1970 by Senator Nelson of Wisconsin after a devastating oil spill in Santa Barbara, CA. That same year the Cuyahoga River actually caught fire in Cleveland, OH.
FOOOM!
Rivers catching fire were once a common occurrence in cities near oil refineries which operated with almost no environmental regulation. You have the Nixon Administration to thank for protective legislation driven by a mosaic of grassroots organizations trying to protect their home landscapes. Who knew?
Last year at this time many of you saw a movie called “Plastic Paradise”. Here is a refresher.

In keeping with Monday’s nod to teenage inventors, here’s some very good news regarding the problem of plastic in the ocean.

Boyan Slat is Dutch, by the way.
The Eleventh Annual Take Back the Night will be held on Wednesday, April 20. The event raises awareness about the issue of sexual violence in our community, and promotes healthy, safe relationships. There is information on this in the counseling office.
If you want an application for Montana Conservation Corps, see Mr. Beckwith.  He will help you fill it out.  Make a difference in your life!

Job Opportunity: Cowboy Troys will be hiring Dishwashers, Prep Cooks and Cooks for the summer and they are willing to train students who would like to be Chefs as a career. Contact Rene at 642-3380.
She would like you to put together a generic application or resume before you come talk to her. Mrs. Martin can help you fill out an application or resume if needed.
