Congratulations to Nora Goodwin! She earned an Honorable Mention in the Montana Junior Duck Stamp Art Competition.

Fun Fact: The species most frequently portrayed by student artists in the Montana Junior Duck Stamp Art Contest is the Mallard.

Speaking of ducks, all you Robert McCloskey fans will appreciate that the book, Make Way for Ducklings set in the city of Boston
has turned 75! See if it’s in the library! And while you’re there, check out a book! Here’s Officer Mike holding up traffic so the Mallard Family can get from the Charles River to Boston Public Gardens.
Robert McCloskey was still a young artist when he brought a crate of ducks back to his studio apartment to do some sketches. Since then, the plucky Mallard family (Jack, Lack, Mack, et al.) has charmed its way into our hearts.

Note to Nora! You’re in good company!

Why: 1 in 5 children in Montana struggle with hunger.
The color orange represents child hunger awareness.
