Because we live next to the forest,
we MUST coexist with wildfire.
If you are a landowner,
you can PREPARE for wildfire by landscaping
with certain species of trees, shrubs, perennials
and groundcovers that do well in
the Rocky Mountain Region.
These species are not fire-proof,
but some are less likely to burn.
Maintaining vegetation helps prevent flooding.
Some species are native and may occur naturally
on your landscape.
Some plants rely on heat to bring out their seeds.
If you ever do work in a greenhouse
or simply want to be a good steward of the land,
you can learn to be a “Firescaper”
Dusty miller is lovely and resilient!
We should all take lessons from nature!
KEEP MONTANA GREEN!
