Today is Monday, November 26th, 2018

The music you heard was the drum group Northern Cree

performing at last year’s Grammys.

November is Native American Heritage Month.

This Week’s theme is:   FUN AND EXCITEMENT
Image result for indigenous thanksgiving
Many people had fun and excitement (and food)
over the Thanksgiving
break.  The origins of Thanksgiving are not celebrated by everyone,
though;
for Native Americans, it can be a reminder of much suffering
for the indigenous people of America.
Here is a Native American discussing his perspective
on Thanksgiving:
Steve Bloom came up with Six Ways to Enjoy Today
  1. Learn to amuse yourself
  2. Laugh at the bad times you’ve had
  3. Cut out the destructive parts of your life
  4. Find the things that drive you
  5. Embrace your inner child (things you liked to do as a kid)
  6. Appreciate the small things in life

Elders and Youngers!
You’ve heard the saying that it is better to give than to receive.
But did you know there is scientific research behind the benefits of being generous?
  1. Better Health
  2. Increased Happiness
  3. Lower Stress
  4. Improved Relationships
  5. People who volunteer live a lot longer.

To increase these benefits, practice them a lot! Make GENEROSITY a habit!

The Class of 2024 showed generosity towards their 1st Grade Buddies,
last Tuesday by sharing their Pizza Party earned through their Red Ribbon Awareness
door decorating contest.
Thanks for facilitating, Mr. Beckwith!

This was the second meeting of 1st graders and 8th graders
and they seem to have become fast friends.
Mrs. Ogden employed them to help wrap up the annual
Thanksgiving  Turkey Gravy Boats as gifts for their families.
They turned out wonderfully!
Good job being generous, everyone!

Vaugn was very vivacious when he visited with Virginia and Valkyrie,
last Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
