Burst of Joy, 1973 by AP Photographer Slava “Sal” Veder
This is a Pulitzer prize winning photo of Lieutenant Colonel Robert L. Stirm
being restored to his family at Travis Air Force Base in California.
He was imprisoned for roughly six years in Viet Nam.
This famous photograph became a symbol of the end of the war
and a period of national healing for soldiers, including some POW’s,
and their families. Sadly, the Stirm’s marriage did not survive,
but the children recall the genuine joy of that amazing day
as their father reappeared into their lives for good.

“Welcome Wednesday”
Welcome back, BPA students!

Here’s a little welcome sequence
for you all this morning:

This Week’s Theme is
Sense of Accomplishment:

We’re just going to show a little bit
of a film about the many values
of studying Shakespeare
and how studying it helped some people
to be more accomplished in school
and career activities.
(Mr. Spencer, please stop the sequence after
the Hamlet soliloquy).

We will soon be hosting the theater company,
“Montana Shakes” from MSU Bozeman.
Stay tuned!

TRUE! For one thing, he coined the term “Swagger”!

Mrs. Taylor’s PE classes will have health in her room
