It is Thursday, March 15, 2018
This Week’s Theme is
Sense of Accomplishment

“Thriving Thursday”
Life has real challenges, as we all know.
Figuring out how to thrive
--to really flourish and come out strong
is a gift you can give yourself.
Hawking had a thriving mind and sharp sense of humor.
His contribution to science was astonishing.
Josephine Baker 1906-1975
African American cabaret star
who hit it big during the Paris Jazz Craze
of 1925.
Here’s some flapper slang
we need to bring back…
1. Ankle: to walk
2. “Applesauce!”: “Horsefeathers!”
3. “Bank’s closed!”:
what you tell someone
to stop making out
4. Bearcat: a lively, spirited woman,
possibly with a fiery streak
5. Berries: like “bee’s knees,”
denotes that something is good,
desirable or pleasing.
“That sounds like berries to me!”

On a totally different topic...
Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia
is one of the most visited refuges in the United States, providing visitors with opportunities
to enjoy wildlands and wildlife. The refuge includes more than 14,000 acres
of beaches, dunes, marsh and maritime forest. Established in 1943 for migratory birds,
the refuge today provides habitat for amazing plants and wildlife
-- including the famous Chincoteague ponies.

One of America’s oldest Wildlife Refuges

Three cars? Phonus Balonus! Tell it to Sweeney, Sheba!
I don’t mean to be an icy mitt, but you’ve been taking wooden nickels
like a Dumb Dora. Where do you get the mazumba to buy three hay burners?
Look, I know I sound like a real tough bimbo, here, but you should just ankle it.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go iron my shoelaces.
